Out of 25,000 contestants, Klum was voted the winner on April 29, 1992 and was offered a modeling contract worth US$300,000!

Country music superstar Travis Tritt was at the 134th Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs last week wearing the ultra-light Maui Jim “Ka’anapali” (R501-23) sunglass. Travis’ released his newest album, The Storm in August, 2007. The first single from the disc was “You Never Take Me Dancing”, was actually written by Grammy Award-winning songwriter Richard Marx, and originally released on Marx’s 1997 album titled Flesh and Bone.

Tom Cruise was in New York over the weekend leaving his Manhattan hotel wearing the new Karl Lagerfeld KL610S. Mr. Lagerfeld is re-launching his own sunglass line in partnership with Marchon Eyewear and the new frames are due to be released any day!  Mr. Lagerfeld is widely recognized as one of the more influential fashion designers of the late 20th century.  He has collaborated with a variety of different fashion labels, with Chloé, Fendi and Chanelthe most notable. But with contracts with companies internationally, throughout his career, he has probably built the most complicated resume of any designer. One of Mr. Lagerfeld’s most famous statements is “Dark glasses are like portable eye shadow and the world looks more beautiful through tinted glasses. Everybody looks 10 years younger,” states Karl Lagerfeld. “That is why I wear dark glasses always.”

Singer Rihanna was in Tampa, Florida yesterday going to lunch wearing CHANEL “CH 4160Q” sunglass. Rihanna is the first female, and the second regardless of gender, from Barbados to have received a Grammy Award. Rihanna received her big break when one of her friends introduced her to music producer Evan Rogers, who was vacationing in Barbados with his wife. “Baby Spice” Emma Bunton was arriving at the LAX airport last week wearing Tom Ford’s very popular “Claudia” sunglass. Emma is a singer in the pop group Spice Girls, in which she was known as “Baby Spice” as she was the youngest member and often wore revealing “babydoll” dresses.

Kim Kardashian was arriving in Sydney, Australia for the MTV Awards wearing the new CHANEL “CH 4155Q” sunglass. Kim was little known outside gossip circles until her pornographic home video she had made with then-boyfriend, rapper Ray J, was leaked.
