Gavin Rossdale was out with his family over the last weekend wearing the timeless style of Oliver Peoples “Specialist” sunglass. Gavin is a musician that is most famous for being the lead singer and guitarist of the former rock band Bush and later the lead singer and guitarist of Institute, which broke up in 2006 after only one album. Gavin is also married to a rather famous music icon, Gwen Stefani.

Tobey Maguire was out in Los Angeles over the weekend wearing Oliver Peoples ”Victory” sunglass.  News leaked over the weekend that Tobey is to be paid a jaw-dropping $50million in salary and profit shares for filming the next two Spider-Man movies back to back.  The deal includes a special arrangement for time off to see his 22-month-old daughter Ruby Sweetheart. Reportedly, Tobey was willing to shoot Spider-Man 4 and 5 back-to-back over six months next year but insisted he should take early mornings and evenings off so he could spend time with his family.  Sony, which declined to comment on the pay deal, is thought to have been wary of allowing “family time” because it could set a precedent. Finally its chairman, Amy Pascal, herself a mother, stepped in, saying six months without family time would not be fair on any parent.

Nicollette Sheridan was out shopping Monday wearing the fantastic Oliver Peoples ”Skyla” sunglass. Kristin Davis was dropping off some of her clothes at the dry cleaners yesterday wearing the classy Oliver Peoples ”Cameo” sunglass.

After graduating college from Rutgers University in 1987, Kristin moved to New York and waited tables before opening a yoga studio with a friend. In 1995, she landed the role of Brooke Armstrong Campbell on Melrose Place. She also had roles in other television series including Friends and Seinfeld.  Her big break came in 1998 when Kristin was cast as Charlotte York in Sex and the City and remained an integral cast member until the series ended in 2004. She was the only one of the four actresses of Sex and the City  not to get an Emmy nomination, until the final season in 2004.

Nicollette Sheridan was enjoying a cup of ice cream last week in Studio City, California wearing the ultra chic and classy Oliver Peoples ”Skyla” sunglass.  This frame is a very glamorous hand-crafted frame that features custom hand hammered metal detailing of the temples which adds refined texture. The 20th Anniversary Oliver Peoples logo plaque is also discreetly laminated at temple end.  This sunglass is one of our favorites of the year.

Madonna was seen visting the Kabbalah Center in Manhattan, New York wearing the fantastic aviator styled Oliver Peoples ”Farrell” sunglass. 

If you look carefully at the photo, you will see that Madonna wears a the red string around her left wrist, which according to Kabbalah is for protection and to ward off the “Evil Eye” (Ayin Hara).  The “evil eye” is a belief that the envy elicited by the good luck of fortunate people may result in their misfortune, whether it is envy of material possessions including livestock, or of beauty, health, or offspring. 

One of the hottest new sunglasses this summer has been the classy Oliver Peoples ”Sofiane” sunglass.  Both Kate Beckinsale and Tori Spelling were recently seen wearing this stunning frame.  The sunglass is partially translucent showing an internal gold or silver frame and comes in many beautiful colors.  The frame structure is called “Suspended Metal”. A metal wire is encased in two layers of hand-sculpted plastic, resulting in the metal appearing ‘suspended’. The Sofiane sunglass is elegant and feminine and is quite unique.
If you haven’t checked out Oliver Peoples website lately, you probably missed their short film “Mind Games” featuring Hollywood icon Robert Evans.  This creative short film features Mr. Evan’s himself, who was a legendary studio exec and producer in the ’60s and ’70s (The Godfather, Chinatown, Marathon Man).

Model Kelly Brook was in Malibu over the weekend wearing the classy Oliver Peoples “Mariette” sunglass. Kelly topped ‘FHM magazine’s 100 Sexiest Women in the World 2005′ list, which was said to have polled 15 million people. In a poll over 5,000 women in April 2005 for Grazia magazine she was considered to have the best British female body. She ranked 5th at ‘FHM 100 Sexiest Women in the World 2006′ list.

Rose McGowan was on her way on Melrose Avenue for dinner last week wearing the classy Oliver Peoples“La Donna” sunglass.  This frame is available in some beautiful and unique colors.  Rose is wearing the olive green highlighted frame with gorgeous dark brown mahogany.  

Rose is an actress best known for her role as Paige Matthews in The WB TV series Charmed, and the cult-classic The Doom Generation. She has also appeared in several major Hollywood films, with leading roles in Scream, Jawbreaker, and the Quentin Tarantino/Robert Rodriguez double-feature Grindhouse. McGowan is currently the co-host of TCM’s film-series program, The Essentials.

Claudia Schiffer was taking her daughter to school in west London on Monday wearing Oliver Peoples “Chelsea” sunglass. This frame is part of Oliver Peoples20th Anniversary collection and has become quite popular, and hard to get lately. As shown on the prior post, this sunglass is also a favorite of Tori Spelling.

Here is an interesting fact about Claudia’s marriage; on 25 May 2002 Claudia married film producer Matthew Vaughn.  Instead of an engagement ring, Matthew bought her a tortoise!

In November 2005, Marcia appeared on the cover of the newly launched Psychologies magazine in the United Kingdom. In the interview she discusses her passion for psychology and therapy. Marcia holds a Masters Degree in Psychology from Antioch University.

Singer and songwriter Christina Milian was in Miami yesterday wearing the classic style of Oliver Peoples Harlot sunglass. Christina has released three studio albums and one compilation album to date. She has also had four solo top five singles (and also a top ten featuring credit single) in the UK as well as hits in the rest of Europe and North America. As an actress, Christina appeared in the 2003 film Love Don’t Cost a Thing. She has writen songs for Jennifer Lopez, Paula DeAnda, and PYT’s. She also starred as singer Linda Moon in Be Cool, the sequel to Get Shorty, and appeared in the 2006 horror film Pulse.

Demi Moore was seen leaving a Santa Monica hotel last month wearing Oliver Peoples “Clorette” sunglass. I had this picture for a few weeks but a difficult time identifying the correct sunglass.  This frame is a big bold sunglass that is definitely not ordinary!

Demi’s original name was Demetria Gene Guynes, and is now known as Demi Kutcher after marrying actor  Ashton Kutcher in 2005. She is best known as Demi Moore, which she kept the name after marrying songwriter Freddy Moore in 1979. Though they divorced in 1985, she kept the last name Moore.

Actor Alan Rickman was at the Berlin Airport last weekend wearing Oliver Peoples “Specialist” sunglass in the beautiful Ash frame color. This sunglass is becoming very difficult to find.

Alan is most recently known for his character Severus Snape, the sinister wizard-schoolmaster of J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter saga, in the five films of that series to date.  He was chosen by Empire magazine as one of the 100 Sexiest Stars in film history (No 34) in 1995 and ranked No 59 in Empire’s “The Top 100 Movie Stars of All Time” list in October 1997. Mr. Rickman became Vice-Chairman of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in 2003. He was voted No 19 in Empire magazine’s Greatest Living Movie Stars over the age of 50 and was twice nominated for Broadway’s Tony Award as Best Actor (Play): in 1987 for Les Liaisons Dangereuses, and in 2002 for a revival of Noel Coward’s Private Lives.
