In 1998, Richard Walker was given the opportunity to design the sunglasses for the principal characters in THE MATRIX, and the quintessential hero sunglass for Angelina Jolie in TOMB RAIDER. He returned to THE MATRIX as the sunglass designer for the sequel films THE MATRIX Reloaded and MATRIX Revolutions. Remaining true to the BLINDE aesthetic, the company launched its first optical collection this year.

Jennifer Garner was out at a Farmers Market yesterday wearing the retro styed Blinde “Particulary Peculiar” sunglass. I finally got around to seeing the movie “Kingdom” in which Jennifer takes her first role as part of an ensemble alongside Jamie Foxx and Jason Bateman. Now out on DVD it is a great movie and I highly recommend it if you like action movies.

Kate Walsh was leaving a Spa in West Hollywood Monday on her 40th birthday wearing Chrome Hearts “Sweet Young Thang I” sunglass.  Kate has been very busy and successful with her role as Dr. Addison Montgomery on the ABC dramas Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice.

Professional poker player, and new husband of Pamela Anderson, Rick Salomon was at Mels Diner in West Hollywood Monday wearing Kieselstein-Cord’s ”Poker Face” sunglasses.  Unfortunately, this sunglass was recently discontinued and has been very difficult to find.  This style was one of the best men’s sunglasses in the K-C line.

Sharon Stone was seen leaving theOrso restaurant in Beverly Hillsmonday wearing Blinde’s “Talk To Me” sunglass. 

Blinde Sunglasses were created by renowned athlete and sunglass designer Richard Walker in 1998 for the characters in the Matrix movie.  He also designed the sunglasses for Angelina Jolie’s character in the Tomb Raider movie. The success of these two films skyrocketed the Blinde brand. One of the most critcal design elements for these frames is that they are conceived as a sculpture in the round, as opposed to the two dimensional sketches that most designers start with. 

Tori Spelling and husband Dean McDermott was out shopping in Los Angeles this past weekend wearing some great sunglasses.  Dean was wearing the unequaled Chrome Hearts Starfire sunglass while Tori was wearing her favorite Oliver Peoples Chelsea sunglass.

Tori and Dean met on the set of Mind over Murderand were married in a barefoot wedding ceremony in Fiji. The couple recently had their first child, Liam Aaron McDermott (Aaron, for Tori’s deceased father) on March 13, 2007 in Los Angeles

 

Actress Mariska Hargitay and son August were in Los Angeles this past weekend waving goodbye to her husband (Peter Hermann) wearing the amazing Chrome Hearts Poon II sunglass. Olivia Benson on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Actor and comedian Chris Tucker and Chris Rock were mixing it up at the BMI Urban Awardsat the New York New York Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas this past week.  Chris was wearing the amazing Chrome Hearts “Rehab II” sunglass while joking around backstage.  This sunglass has a beta titanium frame and hand stitched leather temples.

Tucker’s first major movie role was alongside rapper Ice Cube in the 1995 cult favorite Friday.
