Zac Efron was out yesterday picking up smothies wearing the classic Persol 714 sunglass. This frame is a return to a retro frame and features a foldable bridge and temples.  The Italian hand crafted nature of this frame is quite unique in todays high production factories.

Zac has been quite busy lately staring the upcomming “High School Musical 3: Senior Year”. According to Zac the third chapter of the vaunted tween-tastic Disney franchise arrives with built-in drama.  “Anyone who has been to high school knows senior year is the most exciting year,” Zac said. “It’s the year you’ve been waiting for.  Two years ago, the cast of the show were all unknowns. Now, after the first two Disney Channel movies sold more than 15 million DVDs and 13 million soundtracks, the ensemble is making the leap to movie theaters for a grand finale. (Though, high schools have reunions, don’t they?)

Adriana Lima and Marko Jaric were enjoying the day boating in Croatia yesterday. Adriana was wearing the classy Persol“2805″ sunglass while Marko was wearing RayBan “3293″ avaitor styled sunglass.

Marko is a Serbian professional basketball player currently playing for the NBA team “Memphis Grizzlies“. Marko  played on the Serbian national team when they won the 2002 World Basketball Championships, and he was also a member of the 1998 gold medal-winning Under-22 European Championship team. He is the only player ever to win back-to-back Italian League Championships on two different teams. He won it in 2000 with Paf Bologna and in 2001 with Kinder Bologna.

Alyson who plays Lily Aldrin in the CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother. She is also known for her previous roles as Willow Rosenberg on the television series Buffy the Vampire Slayerand the flautist Michelle Flaherty in the American Pie films.

Matt Damon was out playing golf yesterday in Miami wearing the timeless style of Persol’s 2281S sunglass. Matt has become one of the highest in demand actors today and is one of the top twenty-five highest grossing actors of all time. He has been actively involved in several charitable organizations, including the ONE Campaign and H2O Africa Foundation. Matt has four films that debuted in 2007 which included the smash hit Ocean’s Thirteen. He also portrayed Jason Bourne in the hugely successful The Bourne Ultimatum, and had an uncredited cameo in Youth Without Youth. Actor superstar George Clooney was in Venice, Italy this past week for a film festival wearing the timeless class of the Persol2761 sunglass. George is wearing a rather unique frame color that is nearly transparent which Persol released on a number of their sunglasses this spring.  George has been a big Persol fan and has been seen wearing many of their sunglasses, even in many of the Ocean’s sequels.

The season finale of HBO’s hit series “Entourage” had the boys in Cannes, France trying to sell their mystery movie “Medellin“.  The fanatic direct of the movie, Billy Walsh who is played by Rhys Coiro, was wearing a yet unseen sunglass, Persol 2816. Unfortunately, this sunglass is a European only sunglasses as it was never released in the US.  So do go looking for in your local store here in the US, you wont find it.  But, who knows, maybe they will eventually release it here?

The long awaited, and never really expected, reunion/new band Van Halen made their 2007 Tour announcement at the Four Seasons Hotel in Los Angeles yesterday wearing the very Italian look of Persol sunglasses.  David Lee Roth was wearing the great looking Persol2808 in the tortoise color, while Alex Van Halen was wearing the classic Italian Persol2833 sunglass.

Christina Ricci,  Golden Globe and Emmy Award-nominated actress, was returning home at the Los Angeles Airport wearing the Persol 2849S sunglass.  Persol has always been the standard for classic Italian style, and has some of the finest lenses that manufactured in Italy.

I get the question all the time….”what is your best/favorite aviator style sunglass?” Pretty hard question to answer really since just about every single sunglass manufacture out there today has an “aviator” style sunglass.  In fact, there are so many I really think its impossible to have just one “favorite” aviator.  With all the choices out I still have a few favorites for one reason or another.
