I want to first thank all the people who have written me over the past couple months praising the blog and wanting me back posting!  I really do appreciate all the emails and notes, it has beenquite overwhelming and gratifying to know so many people love and appreciated the blog.

There has been many, many changes at the store.  First (and the most obvious) is the new name, Sunglass Optic Studio.  Over the past few years the old name really no longer told the real story of the store as we have established ourselves as the most influential sunglass boutique in Las Vegas offering the highest quality sunglass brands.

Also, I have the great pleasure of introducing a new partner and Licensed Optician to the business, Mr. Daren Gray.  Daren has been recongnized as “the” most influencial optical person in the Las Vegas eyewear scene over the past years. Daren has been responsible and instrumental in being the first to offer many brands and different lens option to the local scene.  With some recent amazing technological changes in lenses, we are now able to offer prescription lenses in the vast majority of our enormous inventory.  We now can offer lenses that previously were not possible, and what other opticals say can’t be done. For example, Sunglass Optic Studio was the first Beta Testers in Nevada for Maui Jim’s latest lens technology”MauiPassport”, their new most advanced digitally surfaced lenses.  In fact, we are the only optical shop offering the new MauiPassport lenses in the City of Las Vegas.

With all the exciting changes happening we have never been more thrilled and motivated to be “the” sunglass and optical shop in the area.

The last few weeks have been crazy for us here on the blog as we have had more pictures sent to us, and pictures discovered than ever before.  The end of summer seems like a mad rush for celebrities and other people of interest to get out and highlight the goods.  Its been common that we have had over a month of posts backed up just because of the sheer number of pictures and sunglasses available lately.

To alleviate the backup of the sunglasses and images, we will be releasing at least two posts a day for the next few weeks to try and get all these hot styles and pictures out to you. So look for our normal post at midnight as usual, and then another post at noon …. and maybe another post when we feel like it!

I want to also give a very warm thank you for all the kind words and well wishes regarding the blog.  I have been overwhelmed by all the support and kind words from you the readers all over the world.  Thanks again, and enjoy all the hot posts!

We are a different kind of store for a reason. We are not some major corporate stuffy store, but rather I personally hand pick each and every sunglass in our shop for its unique style and/or demand.  We never buy our stock like the bloated corporate stores that have 200 of the same, boring, plain styles because some corporate buyer said so. If you leave our store without finding something really cool, different, and better than what you expected, then I am not doing my job correctly.

Well over the past couple of months a new brand has really impressed us; Original Penguin by Munsingwear, or simply Penguin.  You have seen there sunglass in the hit HBO series Entourage as Vince has been wearing the “Belize” sunglass.  These fantastic retro sunglasses are designed by Shane Baum who is also the designer for the funky Paul Frank Eyewear brand, as well the Modern Amusement brand that was created by clothing magnet Mossimo Giannulli. This brand definitely has that timeless style that is as much unique, as it is stylish and attractive.

We are very fortunate to be the only sunglass dealer for Rock & Republic in the state of Nevada. In fact, we are privileged to be one of the very few boutiques in North America to have access to the collection, as they have very restrictive distribution and are generally only available at Rock & Republic stores.
